I can quote on your projects...

To quote, please provide a written brief and the more detail the better. My quotes are based on my hourly rate, so they will be detailed to include all aspects of your project (based on your brief) with a total price excluding gst. This is so you know exactly what you will get for the quoted fee. If you accept the quote, it acts as a contract. If the project moves outside of the brief, I am happy to provide another quote to cover the extra scope.

Working on an hourly basis...

I understand that you might be need to pin down a firm price for your project, but sometimes commissioning my services by the hour can be more cost effective. Quoting on creative work is not an exact science and especially on larger or long term jobs there may be many 'unknowns' so I will need to factor these into my quote whether or not they occur. Paying by the hour means you only pay for what you get.

Working to a budget...

Don't hesitate to let me know what you have to spend. If you have a budget then I can usually work towards that. Yes, it may mean altering your expectations a little but I can give you good advice on how to make the most of your dollar and still achieve an effective and great looking illustration or design.

Copyright and usage...

Sometimes the discussion can get bogged down when it comes to copyright, but I try to make it as simple and as fair as possible. All my quotes come with some legal small print that explains how copyright and usage applies to that project. Unless otherwise agreed, I do retain copyright and moral rights and I do charge extra for copyright if you need it - but do you really need it? I have a fairly liberal usage policy where, in most cases, you can use a piece of customised artwork exclusively for a period of time that is negotiable. I also allow that artwork to be used on up to three items with exceptions that pertain to branding, packaging and items for sale.
